Brewer tops AutoTrader Utah Focus field

Bob Brewer of Murray. Utah topped Saturday night's USAC Ford Focus main event. It was defending champion Brewer's first main event win in over a year. Brewer passed pole sitter Mark Miran on the 2nd lap and never looked back. Tim Savage increased his series point lead with a 16th lap pass for 2nd place. Billy Cox, James Powell and last race winner Kipp Posey rounded out the Top 5. Brewer nearly sat out this racing season after a near fatal truck-trailer accident enroute to the Chili Bowl in January. It is believed that the 45 year old Brewer is the oldest to win a USAC Focus event in 2007.

Heat race wins were taken by Cox followed by Savage and Brewer followed by Powell. Kipp Posey earned his 2nd AutoTrader Fast Qualifier Trophy with a lap of 15.617 at 86.444 MPH

USAC Ford Focus racing action will return on September 1st when Rocky Mountain Raceways hosts a joint Utah Series-California Pavement Series event along with USAC Western States Sprint Cars.
