Savage wins 4th in a row

Tim Savage scored his fourth consecutive victory in the AutoTrader Ford Focus Midget Series. The main event was shortened to 15 laps due to a lower than expected car count. Additionally, Billy Cox's motor was destroyed as the #2 rod left a baseball sized hole in the engine block.  Rookie James Powell took an early lead from his outside front row starting position. On the 3rd lap Jeff Kelley passed Powell for the lead in turn 3. However the two made contact in turn 4 also collecting third place Bob Brewer. On the restart Savage passed Billy Cox for the lead and proceeded to open a commanding lead, eventually winning by over 3 seconds. Cox driving in the borrowed #96 usually driven by Charley Hanna held on for 2nd place just ahead of Kelley and Brewer charging from the rear of the pack. Trevor Miran recovered from a late spin to take 5th place in his first night in the Gunn Motorsports #13.

Heat Race 1 was won by Kelley and Heat Race #2 was won by Miran. Savage was the AutoTrader fast qualifier with a quick lap of 15.660, average lap speed of 86.207.
