Skogland scores big victory!

Fresno California's Tim Skogland scored a dramatic "rear to the front" victory Saturday night at Rocky Mountain Raceways. Skogland, driving the #40 Western Speed/K&N Gearhardt, was forced to start near the rear of the 20 car field after a heat race crash. Daniel Adler led the opening 6 laps after starting on the pole. Bob Brewer then took the point until lap 11 turning the lead over to Robbie Josett. Brewer briefly re-took the lead after a Lap 21 caution but faded with a cut tire. Josett remained in the lead until Skogland used an inside pass on Lap 30. Josett closed on the final lap and nearly passed Skogland as the two crossed the finish line.

Heat races were won by Tim Savage, Daniel Adler and Josett. Tom Dyer was the AutoTrader Fast Qualifier establishing a new track record of 15.389, 87.725 MPH.

Driver Ed Thayer of Eagle Mountain, Utah flipped during qualifying and was treated at a local hospital and released. Thayer suffered a cracked pelvis in the accident
