August 10th, 2008 Race Results - Rocky Mountain Raceways

Monster truck Sunday proved to be a monster for the Ford Focus competitors chasing point leader Kipp Posey. Posey added to his point lead taking his 5th AutoTrader fast qualifier award and his 3rd main event win of the year. With 2 races left Posey stretched his lead to 29 points over runner up James Powell. Rookie Gregg Fuette took an early lead from his pole position, leading until lap 5 when he was passed by Powell who lead the next 12 laps. Posey used a inside pass in turn 1 of lap 18 and led for the remaining 7 circuits. 2007 champion Tim Savage showed that his early season problems are gone by challenging Powell in the final laps and finishing a close 3rd. Fuette held on for 4th with Billy Cox coming across in 5th place for car owner Rick Lindhardt.

Heat races were captured by Chuck Groat and Powell.

Posey captured his 5th AutoTrader fast qualifier award on his final lap with a time of 15.303 and a average lap speed of 88.218
