Newberry wins on hot
night in Vegas
Brennan Newberry
brought another victory to the Ron Sutton
Winner's Circle Driver Development program on
Thursday night in Las Vegas. During the driver's
meeting it was announced that the predicted high
of 108 was in error. Instead it was then 114
degrees with a track temperature of 148 and
climbing. Newberry took the lead on the 2nd lap
from polesitter Ian Millie and never looked back
despite 3 yellow and 1 red flag during the main
event. Teammate Brendan Langlois and 15 year old Alex
Bowman rounded out the top 3.
Heat races were
captured by fast qualifier Brendan Langlois,
Oleen and Justin Hommel. The Utah cars did not
participate in the Wednesday night practice
session while all California cars did practice.
The practice proved to be advantagous given the
extreme weather and track conditions.
